Krydder • Saffran

Iranian saffron enjoys an exceptional recognition due to its colorful strength, aroma and pigmentation power. Its scientific name is Crokus Sativus, and it belongs to the Iridaceae family. Saffron, variously called the Health flower, King of spices and Red gold, is one of the world's most expensive spices. What is certain is that this is native plant from Asia, although some historians believe that it is originally from Greece and Spain. Spain purchases 80 tons of saffron from Iran and commercializes it as if it was a European product. Saffron can be used for preparing exquisite dishes such as Risotto alla Milanese, Paella, Swedish Lucilla buns etc.
