Spiselig gull
The tradition of edible gold is documented for centuries: Italian Dukes and Earls sprinkled gold leaves on their risotto as far back as the 16th century, while the practice of eating gold in China is documented during the Quing Han Dinasty in 1500. Drinking gold is an equally esteemed custom the Japanese have been addding it to sake for centuries. Back in 1598 Ambrosious Vermoellen founded a distillery in Danzig his master creation Goldwasser is a delightful liqueur made of 25 delicate herbs and spices and 22 karat gold flakes were added which makes the Danziger Goldwasser one of the most unique liqueur in the world.
